Quirky'n Berkeley's shop specializes in hand-made cards. Designer, Carol, lives in Berkeley, California and is a member of several Etsy "Street Teams".
Carol sets herself apart from many of the other card designers on Etsy by not involving any computers. She tries to feature cards that involve manipulating the paper itself to create something three dimensional.
Carol tells me "I started making cards for friends several years ago, who encouraged me to sell them, too. Eventually, I sold holiday cards to the florist down the street and have sold over 800 unique designs since then."
"Each card is a new and unique production, made of treasures from my collection of paper and ephemera, transfigured into a single piece held together by a little glue, a lot of ideas, practice and work, and most of all, a great amount of joy."
One of the favored items in her shop are the little origami boxes she has created using beautifully textured yuzen chiyogami papers.
