Claiming, “it’s more important to click with people than to click the shutter,” Alfred Eisenstaedt defined the practice of photojournalism as one of its pioneering practitioners, from the years leading up to World War II to the closing decade of the 20th century. He took his first photograph at 29, one of more than a million he would take over the course of his career.
